Ignacio is an experienced professional executive, with over 20 years working for multinational companies. With an MBA in International Finance and a Masters in Economics from The George Washington University, in Washington DC, he combines theory with practical experience gained in managing businesses, helping stat-up operations, and developing teams and processes to achieve objectives and goals. He is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese; and also speaks French, Italian and German.
Ignacio was born and raised in Uruguay. He lived in the US, Brazil and Argentina for over 20 years, and return to his home country with his wife and three children.
Ignacio worked for the Inter-American Developing Bank in Washington DC. Then moved back to South America and worked 15 years for General Motors Argentina and Brazil, holding regional managerial positions in Supply Chain and Logistics, Quality Administration, and Service and Customer Care. In 2011, he moved back to Uruguay to join the Gildemeister Group (Chile) and develop a new business unit that imported and commercialized 5 Asian automotive brands. He then worked for KIA Motors Uruguay, turning around the After Sales division, and developing the dealers and service networks. In 2016, Ignacio became an independent consultant, with focus on Supply Chain, developing teams and professionalizing organizations.
He currently works for the National Agency of Investigation and Innovation (ANII), coordinating the Logistics Innovation Program. He is also an associate professor at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and participates in different activities related to innovation and sustainable development.
